So, the election process continues. I'm a bit surprised there's so much fuss about Florida and Michigan and their electoral votes. Why is there surprise the votes aren't going to be counted? Each of the states knew they were moving their election primaries to a date explicitly not supported by the Democratic National Committee. Each voter who went to the polls knew that their vote wasn't going to count. Why the cries now to count the votes? Seems like it's a bunch of whiney people. I don't like whiney people. There, I said it. In fact, some of my favorite pet peeves are Facebook groups that I'm a member of. That was a joke to annoy those who are members of "I judge you when you use poor grammar." The other groups include "1,000,000 Fans Who Hate the Yankees", "I secretly want to punch slow walking people in the head" (especially walking down the streets in London), "I got my pitchfork at St Theresa School in West Roxbury", "I flip my pillow over to get to the cold side", and the "I shower naked" group.

Anyway, the 2008 presidential election is still interesting, at least on the Democratic side. I'm having a hard time understanding how John McCain is getting any advantage being the Republican nominee so early. It sounds like he's fallen off the news, and Hillary and Barrack both are still heavily in the spotlight. Which could be good, or bad, depending how it all plays out. But has everyone seen the "Obama Girl" video? It's a quite well made music video about a girl who has a big crush on Obama.

In other news, we are in the midst (dare I say near the end?) of remodeling our second bedroom. In our old flat, there were three bedrooms - one used as an office, one as our regular bedroom, and one as a guest room. In our new place, there are only two bedrooms, so we had struggled to figure out how to use the second bedroom as both an office (90% of the time) and as a guest room / clothes storage place. Not to worry - a friend had some great ideas for using the space, and had the construction contacts to actually make it happen. The remodel started on Monday this week, and should be complete tomorrow! We've been taking daily pictures to chart the progress, and I hope to post those this weekend.
