Weekend in Barcelona

We visited Barcelona this past weekend (and get TimeOut's Guide to Barcelona if you're going).
The primary purpose of the trip was a fundraiser for the UK-based equal rights group, Stonewall. Troy and I raised about £800 for the charity, and there's still time through September to donate, so please give a few pounds to support Stonewall's Education campaign. The campaign is focused on ensuring that a safe and comfortable learning environment exists for students across the UK who are LGBT.
Other than the great cause, we met a bunch of nice people (mostly who live around London) and stayed at a great hotel, Axel Hotel. One of the nice things of the 10k walk was that it was tied to a set of trivia and things that each group had to discover. So as we walked throughout Barcelona, there were a lot of things we needed to do - ranging from asking tourist to translate phrases into their native languages, to discovering why a certain police force guards the Parliament building instead of the regular police force. It definitely helped that I was in a group where a few people spoke Spanish!
