Remodel spare room into bedroom and office

When we moved into Ealing (see the earlier posting for Buying property in the UK), we downgraded from a three bedroom flat to a two bedroom terraced house. In the previous place, we used one room as our regular bedroom, one room as an office, and the third room as a guest room. While this was fantastic for visitors, the third room mostly sat unused. So in the new place (which we bought), we needed to find a way to have the second room serve as an office most of the time, but also as a guest room when needed.
We had a large stand-alone wardrobe in the room, and used it for lots of clothes storage (as one might imagine). We also had an Ikea desk set up for the computer, and that basically took up the room. There also was a small fireplace (bricked up) that jetted into the room a bit. One of our friends is quite gifted at seeing the potential in places and being able to actually do something about it. Quite a nice talent to have! In the space of one visit and a bit of drawing, he was able to propose some relatively minor changes to the room that would free up the space, make it a lot nicer, and completely deliver on the two goals we had for the room. To make it even better, he also had a specific construction guy that he's used and likes. Does it get any better than this?
So we contacted the contruction guy, gave him a walkthrough, overview, and the drawings, and in the span of 7 days later, had a completely remodelled room. We bought a sofa sleeper bed, and Troy's mom is the lucky first guest. It looks fantastic!
